Did you know infants & adolescents can benefit from Chinese Medicine too?

Chinese Medicine for Kids

Chinese Medicine can often be a great option for kids too! I take patients 6 months old and up. If the patient is under 18 I require that their legal guardian is present for their treatment. I generally don't use needles until the patient is able to provide feedback to ensure the needles are comfortable. Kids typically only need a few and often respond faster than adults! Cupping, gua sha, acupressure, qigong, lifestyle and dietary advice may also be used in treatments.

I highly encourage parents to take advantage of my free 15 minute phone consultations so we can discuss together if acupuncture and Chinese Medicine is a good fit for your child at the time. Contact me to set up a time to chat.

For first time patient's I typically recommend scheduling a 1 hour acupuncture appointment so I can do a more through intake, we can get to know each other and the child can have some time to get familiar with the tools I use. Depending on the age and what is being treated some pediatric patients just need 30 min return visits going forward. I often recommend treatments once a week for 3-6 weeks to start. Acute ailments often don't require ongoing care where as chronic conditions may require a maintenance care plan. For all patients under 18 I require the legal guardian be present for the treatment.
